Referrals
Personal requests will not be accepted. Families must come through one of our referral partners. If you are not sure who this might be, please contact us.
Donations
- We PAT test all of our electrical items to ensure they meet safety standards.
- We cannot be certain the car seats we supply have never been involved in an accident. We do ask our car seat donors if the seat has been involved in an accident, we would not accept any that have. However, we accept no liability for any injuries sustained whilst using these or any of our other items we donate. We do ensure all our car seats have not passed their expiry date.
- We cannot accept responsibility for items that we donate that may later fail or break. We ensure all items are of good condition and that all parts are present and pass our safety checks.
- Our staff and volunteers are unable to assemble items so instructions will be provided where possible. We cannot accept responsibility for any injuries etc due to failure to assemble as per the instructions.
- We sell some of our items that we don’t believe are a necessity, i.e. bouncers and jungle gyms. This allows us to continue to purchase new items. If you are donating an item and don’t wish for it to be sold, please specify this to one of our volunteers.
- We can where possible collect donations throughout Halifax and Calderdale. We will only be able to deliver items at times suitable to our volunteers in North Halifax when possible.
- Items are donated on a loan basis. To help our service continue we expect the items to be returned to us once there are no longer required. They should be in good clean working order.
- We cannot accept donations of used mattresses due to the risk of SIDs, nor can we take donations of opened packs of nappies.
- We do not accept items without clearly labelled sizes, i.e. knitted goods, socks and underwear. We will, however, accept these in original clearly labelled packaging.
- Any items donated are purely on a loan basis and must not be passed on or sold without our consent.
